My name is Gabriel Browne, I’m a professional windsurfer from Brazil. I was born in 1992 in Fortaleza, on the northeast coast of Brazil. Fortaleza is known as the city of constant winds all year long. My dad was a multiple time Brazilian racing champion and he also did many international events but always as a hobby, as he had his regular job to take care. Since very young age I was always playing with my dad’s equipment on the beach and traveling with him and my family to windsurfing events. So I guess windsurfing was something that came very natural to both me and my older brother, Marcilio Browne. At the age of 4/5 years old my dad started to teach me to windsurf, my brother was already sailing, he was 7 years old. Since that, I never stopped. At the age of 11, I started to compete on Nationals events in the open division. With 13 I traveled to Maui for the first time, it was love at the first sight. I knew that was a very special place. At 14 I did my first PWA event in Fuerteventura and finished top 20. After that, I kept doing PWA slalom events, FW word tour, and all national events. With 19, I became vice-leader of the FW world Ranking. Right now I am a full-time competitor on the PWA world tour and looking forward to many great years ahead. I’m happy to be riding with MFC fins, a company that has an incredible capacity to present amazing products every year and is always ahead of developments and new technologies.
