Camille Juban

Born in St Etienne, (France), his parents moved to the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe when he was 4 years old. A year later he was already on a surfboard and about to get hooked on his passion for the ocean. At age 7 this passion grew when his father put him on a windsurf board for the first time. For the next 6 years he accompanied his father, sister and his little brother sailing around the island and enjoying all the easy spots to learn wave riding that Guadeloupe has to offer.
By this time Camille was 14 and already attracting attention as a talented wave rider by winning a number of local contests, including the St Anne Wave Classic where he took the trophy for best youth contender and best wave rider. In 2004 he went to Maui (Hawaii) for the first time to take part in his first international junior wave event where he came in second.
That’s also when he met one of the finest individuals in windsurfing, Keith Teboul, who now owns the famous board brand “Quatro International”. While Camille was in Maui, Keith gave him enthusiastic support and encouragement to continue his windsurfing career. 2011 was the year of his consecration when he took first place in the Maui Makani Classic: Camille Juban won in Hawaii and entered windsurfing history as the first French rider to win a contest on Maui ahead of old world champions like Francisco Goya and Josh Stone.

Since then, Camille has traveled around the world to follow the PWA (world tour) and AWT (American tour), as well as shooting photos and a travel video. Now his goal is to do his best in his wave events and continue to do what he likes most about his career: shooting travel stories, discovering new places where no one has ever windsurfed before and helping a maximum number of people to discover the beauty of this sport.
