Girl On Wave
Girl on Wave introduces professional windsurfer Sarah Hauser (@hauserlifestyle) and documents her journey as a New-Caledonian athlete competing on the American stage of windsurfing and riding the biggest waves on the planet. Kuau based 27-year old Sarah Hauser left the comfort of a masters degree in computer science and a career path behind to follow her passion and pursue the unconventional path of an action sports athlete. Today, in an ever changing world where traditional careers have less and less of a guarantee of success than in generations past, Girl on Wave focuses on the challenges, risks, and rewards that Sarah faces on her quest to combine personal dreams with a career in hopes of inspiring others to never loose sight of their own dreams.
“I hope Girl on Wave will give people a boost of motivation in their quest toward their dreams. I hope it will inspire people to nourish their passion no matter what path they chose in life, no matter their age or gender. And I hope it will help to reintroduce and revive windsurfing in America” says Sarah Hauser.
The first windsurfing film shot entirely in 5K, Girl on Wave is filmed on Maui and includes interviews with local mentors and community leaders who have inspired Sarah on her journey and have played a critical role in helping her get to where she is today. Driven to perform at her highest potential in big swells and competitions around the globe, Sarah is leaving her unique mark on the windsurfing sport. Girl on Wave premieres worldwide at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on April 21, 2017.
“Girl on Wave is a film for everybody! People who love cinematography and want to watch 5K wide images of sports on Maui. But mainly and mostly it’s for anybody who has dreams and wants to listen to the story of someone who set out to conquer their dreams, and who faces challenges and fights to make those dreams come true”
